Hi everyone! Welcome to the site. I was born in New Orleans, LA on August 29, 1969, a very busy day for hurricane history, both Katrina and Ida making landfall on that day.
My mother, Louise, was a trained painter, a fine arts conservator, and a hoarder. My father, Edward Lee Beeson, Jr., was a professor of physics at the University of New Orleans, and later was the head of the Underwater Acoustics Division at Navoceano. He also was an avid sportsman.
I inherited an analytical logical side and an artistic side. I was raised in New Orleans East. It was a messy affair, being raised by a hoarder, and I was exposed early and often to beautiful historic works of art scattered around the house, the smell of turpentine wafting through the family room daily.
It was always very strange to me to see paintings valued in the 10s of thousands laying around the house like stale donuts!
